This actor who played James Bond is even MORE of a badass in real life!
James Bond is smooth, seductive, and a real macho-man when it comes to handling the bad guys.
It turns out Sean Connery was the perfect fit to be the debut Bond, since just a few years before taking on the role he managed to disarm and knock down a gangster who threatened him with a gun.
In 1958, four years before Connery would go on to start the James Bond film series, he was had a role in the melodrama “Another Time, Another Place.”
He acted as the love interest of costar Lana Turner's character. Unfortunately, Connery was such a good actor that he convinced Turner's mob-affiliated boyfriend they were having an affair.
Johnny Stompanto, the jealous boyfriend, stormed on the set with a gun and threatened Connery. The future Bond acted quickly and knocked the gun away while managing to push Stompanto to the floor.
Stompanto was banned from the set and Connery had to lay low until the threats from Stompanto's men cooled off.
